What i did today in government 3/21/2013

What i did today in government class was pick out our questions to research about our topic which is lowering the drinking age. We want to find good facts and resources to help us on our project. We want to find out if lowering the drinking age is a good or bad idea and what are the benefits and nonbenfits of doing it.

Fisical cliff

uhh what does fisical cliff have to do with my family. well alot really. i mean taxes are going to go up and everything and middle class shuldnt be the only one being taxed. i mean come on the rich have more money then us, tax them. leave us low income families alone and go after the wealthy means they have money to just throw around. fisical cliff is going to hurt alot of the middle class people and seems like alot more poverty might start setting in with alot more foreclosers. fiscal cliff in my point of view means alot to my family. nobody likes taxes. but whats done is done now.

Our canidate

The lasty whole week we helped out a canidate of our choice. I went to republican side and helped out Jim Givant. He is a very good man and is a good canidate to talk to. He communicates very well  and is in it for all the right reasons. We  helped him hang up campagin signs and made election cards for him. He came out to our school for his election and gave a specch to help out his campagin. His opponent didnt show up so he had the floor very well. If i would vote i would vote for him because he is a very good canidate abd communicated very well with us unlike his other canidate who was kind of mean when the other group called him up. Givant wants to help our country succed and he is doing good at it.

Election game

I had Obama at 270 and Romney at 263. The swing states i had for Obama waas Iowa and Florida, and Ohio for Romney. Iowa would choose Obama because they have low income, voted democrate after the wars because republican didnt go there way. Florida would vote Obama because they approve gay marriage, the dont wanna tax just the rich abecause icome wont effect them. Ohio would choose Romney because they go against gay marriage, They really only vote replublican and have a low income rate for there state.

Of the 8 principles of the Constitution; which do you believe to be most influential in shaping society? What role have these ideas had on domestic and foreign policies?

Popular Sovereignty in my opinion is the most important principle out of the 8. It is about our right to vote in the United States. Voting is very important part of our lives. It gives us the chance to pick our president and vice president. Why would we want the government to pick our president? What if we dont even like the guy and his ideas or plans? What if he is making decesions we don't even like? Do you believe in the right to vote? Well thats why we got the right ot vote. Were suppose to believe in voting and vote. We don't want our government picking our president, we need do. We look at the people running for president and go over thier political views about the president and then vote for who we want not what our government wants. We were givin the right to vote for a reaon and we need to use that reason and keep voting. We need whats good for our country to help maintain it and keep it running smoothly. Not get put in trillions of dollars in debt. So people today should use thier oppurtunity to vote and use it. Not sit around and watch our world fall apart.

enviroment

How important is it to you for the U.S. government to spend money to protect the environment?

I think it is really important for the government to spend money on our enviroment. Without our enviroment we would all be dead and there would be no earth. Our enviroment is very important to us because  its how we grow our food. Without food like plants and animals we would all die, because witout food in our enviroment we would all starve. Also our enviroment is important to us because of our air. We need air to breathe and live. But we all pollute our enviromen and take it for granit. If we keep polluting our air with all this smog, car fumes, fires, and smoke we will have no FRESH air left to breathe. People think our enviroment doesn't need helped out and that we will have a perfect envirmonet for a long time. Actually our enviroment needs alot of help and can use money stuck into it and people to help by not spreading pollution and picking up trash to not pollute our ground that we grow on.

Do you agree with President Obama’s plan to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan? Why or why not? What would you do?

I do agree with Obama on his choice of taking them out. I hate family and friends going over seas and fighting, for what? nothing! All its doing is keeping a war going that doesn't need to keep going. When were over there it does nothing but lose our soldiers. We haven't accomplished anything while we have been over there. So i agree with Obama that we should bring back our soldiers and end the war that costed us nothing but money and lives. So please end it all and bring back our family,friends, and citizens.

I like this comic because we need to give taxes to the wealthy. Because just because there rich doesnt mean they don't have to have any taxes. We work hard for our money and we still have to pay taxes so they should have to also. I also agree with getting rid of jobless benefits, because just because you choose not to work doesnt mean u should recieve free money. Lazziness is never the solution to anything. If you want money go out there and work for it instead of sitting on your butt!

what does it mean to be an american citizen? well i means i get to be my own self, that i have freedom of speech, i can wear what i want, i can drive, i have some rules to follow, i can shoot guns and have them, i can own pets, im with my family all the time, i have friends, i got school, i have a good job, i pay for what i want and help out on what i want, i can own what i want, i get a house at te age of 18, i can marry or date who i want, and best of all is that im a FREE person!
